Charles Lloyd is a living jazz icon, one of the greatest leaders and improvisors of all times, relentless thinker and inovator. The intensity of his improvisations and the interest for merging of jazz with non-Western musical styles positioned him as one of the key figures in the expansion and advancement of this art. Belgrade audience will have the opportunity to hear Lloyd’s first jazz suite Wild Man Dance Suite, which was performed for the first time in November last year in Poland and since then several times more on the selected festivals. Also, he will present a new quartet, in which Gerald Clayton (30), son of a famous contrabass player John Clayton, plays the piano and is considered one of the most promising pianists today.
