Concert: Sunday | 26. October 2014. 11:00 PM Belgrade Youth Centre, Americana Hall
Piano group Red Trio represents an avant-garde musical arrangement, with the origins in the work of the legendary Cecil Taylor. This trio’s music is usually fast, energetic, highly focused, dynamic, nervous and violent, yet at times surprisingly lyrical and meditative. They cooperate frequently with American and British solo musicians, such as John Butcher, Nate Wooley and Mathias Stall. The album Stem from 2011 was among the most prominent releases on the global avant-garde scene (reaching high positions on American jazz charts), a jazz album of the year in Portugal, while that year the trio won the award for the best Portuguese jazz group.
